Who are you?
My name is CJ. I currently live in Elk Grove, California.
One could say I am a simple person. Rather than force myself upon others, I tend to linger in the background and observe others. However, those I choose to open up to are sure to find I am a very friendly and loving person. I have my faults, as does everyone else–though I try not to let them affect my life too harshly, and am constantly trying to better myself.
I have many motivations, though few that move me as much as music. Ideally, I try to keep myself somewhat unbiased to music in general and I do enjoy a broad spectrum of different genres, and I am sure to like anything that is well composed and interesting enough. Still, I tend to gravitate much more towards more energetic and aggressive styles, the more progressive the better.
Keeping an open mind about the world is important to me, and I strive to rid myself of prejudices of all sorts. I am a dedicated skeptic and a strong atheist. It is certainly not my place to tell others how to live or what to believe, however I feel that unreasonable, blind faith is dangerous and damaging to society, and I always encourage free thought and reason.
Incompetence is one of the few things that I cannot stand, and as such I embrace sobriety and lucidity in all aspects of my life. I don’t intentionally pollute my body and mind with chemicals and instead choose to live free of dependencies on substances just to “have a good time” as it were. I should like to point out, however, this does not mean I’m generally opposed to kicking back with a drink every now and then, but I can’t imagine spending large quantities of my life in inebriated stupor.
I am always up for meeting new people, and so if you think I might be neat, don’t hesitate to contact me!
What is this?
This is a portal to my various projects and activites that I am involved in and have been involved with in the past.
It used to contain a blog, but after months of inactivity and having no desire or need to say anything, I’m turning this into just a regular personal site. I may eventually ditch WordPress since I don’t really have a need for a CMS.

Why Gardens of Nihil?
I want to say I’m “cool” and mysterious by saying it’s because I’m a Nihilist, but I’m not really (cool, mysterious, nor nihilist). At my worst, I’m incredibly cynical, but I generally have a pretty positive outlook on Life, The Universe, and Everything. Frankly, I got the title from a Random Place Name Generator.
The word “Nihil” comes from Latin, meaning “Nothing”. Which that is probably pretty much what you will find that this site contains.
