Blackened Brutal Death Metal

A Little History:

Anima Morthor originally was a brutal death metal band based in Cheyenne, Wyoming, started in 2005 by Travis “Blüdshred” Kolbo, and CJ “Vulkan” Vaughn. In the very beginning, Anima Morthor consised of Travis on guitars and CJ on vokills, and Josh Stamey (of Cheyenne’s The Ludovico Technique) on drums. Josh, however, was frequently indisposed and CJ ended up moving to drums. Soon Jesse “Hellscream” Davilla was recruited for vokills, and Jay “Kshhhhh” Conklin (I forget his name, and it’s not really that important anyway) on guitars and Travis Hall on bass. However, due to “artistic differences” Jay was eventually replaced by Eric Jessup.

However, no one was all that happy with how the band was going. Before the first performance, everyone agreed to disband thereafter. The performance was arguably awesome, but everyone still agreed that the band was no more. While CJ decided to take a break from music in general, Travis and Travis moved on to work with Rick Gustafson to form Chainsaw Surgery, but unfortunately that also was short lived. Eric tried starting some other group to little avail.

After a couple years Travis Kolbo tried rebooting Anima Morthor with Rick Gustafson, but ended up changing monikers to Gustafson’s own Condemned Remains, which they currently still are involved with.

Although there currently are no plans for use of the Anima Morthor name, however Blüdshred and Vulkan both have vowed to keep it in use in some way or another, if only because of the awesome logo designed by Christbutcher.
