Eyes Sewn Shut

About:
Eyes Sewn Shut was a Cheyenne, Wyoming based death metal ensemble. It started with TJ “Octagon” Snook and Zach “I DONT WANNA” Martin on guitars, Juan “Lil’ Burrito” Pino on vocals, and Nate “Master Nate” Coleman, and was soon joined by Jarret “Emo Kid in a metal band” Janzen on bass.
The real magic began when drummer CJ “Emperor’s Old Drummer” Vaughn was introduced to the band by a mutual friend. The following two years were jam packed with plenty of brutality and faggot drama that eventually led to him departing, but not before they recorded a pretty mediocre demo with mega thanks to Chris Webb, formerly of the band Bernadette.

Nostalgia:
In spite of the harsh words, I mean them lightheartedly. Some of the best days of my life were spent hanging with these guys. I moved onto other things (like the short lived Anima Morthor), but they all overcame and adapted. Jarret became brutal and started playing drums, and I think he is way better now than I ever was. They ended up changing their name to “Blind The Watchers” taken from a line from some Pig Destroyer song somewhere down the line, which I thought was pretty gay (not to mention the whole “Verb The Noun” band name thing is way overplayed). And evidently everyone else thought it sucked too, as they recently changed it again to Reproacher.
Either way, I wish them all great luck, and I hope to get a mention somewhere when they’re famous.
